A friend of mine was approached by a man in the film industry for adults and asked if he was interested in a movie. It made me start to wonder why it is illegal to pay for sex with a prostitute, but if you pay for sex in the film is a film for adults and it's OK? How can the difference between the two from a legal point of view? What is to stop at the police to film stars adult prostitution?

Since players are not paid for sex. They are paid to act, voluntarily and gender.
It is a strange distinction, granted. However, they are paid actors, whether real or only apparent gender (the screen) than gender, gender is not a requirement of the market.
As it is not illegal to hire someone to make your day, then volunteered to have sex. Although the contract does not call itself, sex as an element that is not prostitution.
